baking day

it rained almost all day long yesterday.  and a hard, heavy rain.  it was awesome.

 we have decided that wednesday is baking day. as well as library day. granny takes ms marls to the library in the morning and then davis and i join them after lunch at granny's house for some fun mess making in the kitchen. and gg joins in for the taste testing. it's great.

so when i ask marley what she wants to do, usually she replies with "farts and craps momma!"  i guess i have gotten into the habit of calling it that.  oh well.  we have been doing a lot of farts and craps this week.  i would show pictures, but the farts and craps are for uncle kirby and we want him to be surprised.  at least a little bit.  but it is pretty darn cute, if i do say so myself.

 marley loves to run.  we head to the park often and she just runs and runs.  and then we hit up the swings and slides. 

 thanksgiving we were going to go to the beach but life got crazy before we made any concrete plans, so next year we will definently be at the beach.  this year we are going a dinner at our house.  the more the merrier.  just bring something to add to the feasting.

 this momma has a stomache bug, so i got no sleep last night.  i'm off to bed at the early hour of 8pm.  i've earned it though.  my day starts at 4am.  every single day.  it's like davis has an alarm clock in her head or something.

day light savings time

can kiss my patootie.  the entire family has been up since 5am.  we were at denny's by 630am.  i mean what else can you do at that hour when two little ones refuse to understand that the time changed.  stubborn they are.  by 830am we had eaten and were home with our groceries.  ridiculousness.  the next couple of days are going to be rough, but we'll adjust gradually.  friday we went to the houston quilt show.  it was super fun.  ben had a three day weekend, so we originally headed to houston to go to the natural history museum, but i took a wrong turn on 59.  actually ben saw the sign for it and insisted we go.  i had forgotten it was this weekend, as the past several weeks have been all topsy turvy.  it was huge.  and fun.  i will go again.  my butt is dragon.

so i looked over a second later and the spoon was gone.  my first thought was oh shit she ate the spoon.  she didn't.  it was on the floor.

marley mae will be making her ballet debut at the christmas stroll!  there will be a parade and then they will perform.  december 2nd.  i will post details as i find them out.  prepare for cuteness.

right now

welcome to november.  the month of gratitude.  so this month i am going to focus on being grateful.  my mom's been on an extended vacation of sorts and it is crazy how much i miss her.  my girls miss their granny, of course, but i miss my friend.  i am grateful that she was able to go and i am grateful that she is coming home.  what do i love about right now?  so many many things.  here are a couple of pics of some of my favorite things that happened today.  this month i am going to focus on teaching marley to see and feel and love the world around her.  that gratitude is more than a thank you.  it's a way of seeing and living and loving and being.

marley has an imaginary friend.  he showed up a couple of days ago.  he's tiny and she carries him around in her pocket.  it's a very soft bunny.  his name is pet bunny and he changes colour daily.  today he was purple, yesterday he was green.
