thank you god it's friday! ben has been on twelves, mid afternoon until way too late, and will be for the foreseeable future. it's hard. on him, on me, on the girls. but we have an awesome support system and are lucky that he is working these hours voluntarily not b/c he has to or we are desperate for money or anything. so all in all it could be worse. but that doesn't necessarily make it easy. me, mom, and the girls went to a quilt show in brenham today. saw a quilt that i am super excited to try to make. it's all hand work, which i have sworn up and down i will not do, but there is something so cool about this that i just have to try. if we can find a pattern, that is. it's a japanese kaleidoscope. if i find a pattern i will share pictures of my progress.
marley has been very two for most of the day, and actually i think she has been three most of the day. she is much more deliberate in her disobedience these days. and i think that is a sign of three and not two. so sigh. i hate discipline. it breaks a little piece of my heart every time i send her to time out or punish her in some way. she gets so upset. especially when she is tired. thank god she normally an angel. i would say maybe once a week we have a rough day full of time out. and i can usually tell when it's going to happen: when she doesn't sleep well. all in all, my girls are awesome and i have no room to complain. ben is so much better at discipline than i am. i cave. i rock. i hug. i console. i kiss. i talk. but we get there. and together ben and i are a good team. i mean just look at our girls. we must be doing something right, even if it is only by accident.
