we finally got together to exchange our finished round robins today and they all turned out great! i will include photos, of course. the cool thing about a round robin is that we all end up with a quilt that everyone has worked on. how it works, for those who don't know quilting, is we each individually made a center square. then we passed that center square on. with each pass of the squares a border was added until we had worked on them all.
in other news, marley had her 21st birthday on friday. months that is. she celebrated by turning into a stubborn two year old. not really that bad, but she definently has ideas of her own. she insisted on wearing a certain outfit that day and clothes are not something i believe in fighting about. as long as she is covered adequately. she had a BIG and very gratifying milestone on friday. she told me she loved we in the midst of showering me with kisses. well, she signed that she loved me. nothing melts your heart quite like that.
thursday is thanksgiving and we are hosting the big family gathering at our house, which i am excited about. it makes this house feel more like home, the more memories we build here. ben's mom flies in thursday morning and will be here all weekend long, which is super exciting. let's just keep our fingers crossed that we don't have a turkey disaster. but ben is in charge of that and since he is an executive chef, i think we should be safe.
ben and i put up our christmas lights today. i know a little early, but we take advantage of the time we have. they are solar powered, so let's hope they work.
last weekend we got to see granny play her handbells. every year there is a big area wide handbell concert. it was very cool. marley enjoyed it. i got a terrible picture of granny playing her bells and a great one of the guy in front of me's bald spot. but mom hates being in front of a crowd, so i didn't want to make her more nervous. if you look closely you can pick her out. all the choirs were fantastic.
