crazy reigns supreme

so crazy reigned supreme this weekend.  what is it they say about the best laid plans?  well, they went to hell this weekend.  friday night marley woke up suddenly with the worst, scariest cough ever.  if you've had kids and they've had croup you know what i am talking about.  i called my mom and ben home from work and we headed to the er.  marley was so very brave.  the nurse practioner on duty was the dad of one of my friendsfrom high school and he was AMAZING with marley.  she let him examine her with no problems.  usually she is a big drama queen at the doctor and i assumed it would be worse if she was scared and in a hospital.  but ben and i focused on being calm and upbeat, hoping she would catch our attitude.  and i think it worked!  anyway.  turns out she has a bad ear infection and croupy cough.  so we got antibiotics and a steriod.  both of which seem to be doing their job.  marls was very sick on saturday, just laying around, barely awake.  but she slept a good long time saturday night and woke up much much better on sunday.  today she was back to marley mae, just very tired by bedtime.  saturday was supposed to be the a&m game for my mom, eric and lori, and ben, but that totally fell apart.  as soon as we got home from the hospital friday night my mom went home and got horribly sick.  there is an awful stomache bug going around brenham.  watch out.  anyway she couldn't go to the game and neither could ben.  but we all survived the weekend.
davis had food for the first time on sunday.  rice cereal.  she wasn't impressed.  at all.  she was more interested in the bib, in fact.  she may not be ready for food yet.  haven't decided if i'll keep trying or not.  babies aren't really ready for food until they out grow their spit-it-out reflex.  that's a real thing, although i am positive that is not the real name.  she goes for her 6 month well baby decemeber 5th, so we'll chat with the doc and see what he thinks.  can you believe she's 6 months already?!  i can't.  time sure does fly by.  oh, and we now have 5 teeth!
our thanksgiving craft for kirby.

kirby sent me a pic of the finished, assembled bird, but i don't know how to get it from my phone to the computer....so when/if i figure that out i will share it.

finger paint heaven

very excited about the bib

not sure i would be thrilled about this either.  i've read that banana is better to start breastfed babies on, so maybe that next.

put spoon in, spit food out.

she wanted to play with the spoon.

sick but still sassy
