rules

i do not have many die hard parenting rules.  i find it is much easier to be flexible.  for my sake and theirs.  but my good friend erin once gave me an great piece of advice: NEVER get into a battle of wills with a toddler.  you WILL lose.  and it will be awful.  so when i find myself getting close to that position i try to change directions.  today i totally failed at that.  i got into a battle of wills with marley over dinner.  i was trying to get her to eat.  and she was not interested.  she had dance class and i wanted her to have energy for it.  the details aren't important.  the fact is we all lost big time this evening.  it's been a super long week here.  marley had a cold.  and then she gave it to everybody.  i have no voice.  and poor davis is not feeling good and having teeth problems.  i can see the second tooth, but the darn thing just won't pop thru.  but now that everybody else is better marley is back up to full speed.  which i am thankful for.  i hate when my babies are sick.  tomorrow marley starts kindermusic class.  it's a music class for kids 18months to 3 years.  they learn how to play musical instruments, sing songs, and dances to accompany them all.  she should love it.  and she will be one of the big kids in this class, as compared to one of the little kids in her dance class.
here's praying for health and happyness to come running thru my front door.
